OKAY, so apparently in Taiwan they were transporting this whale that had died and washed up ashore, when ALL OF A SUDDEN it EXPLODED on cars, storefronts and pedestrians. Could you even imagine this happening? Look at that whale. Look how huge that thing is. That is an incredible beast. Guts=Happening.
I thought this was pretty funny. Its a board game created by this mixed media artist JR Baldwin for HST's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."
I usually am not into stuff that looks like this but it is pretty incredible in detail. It's by artist Pete Fowler and is a giant mural he did for Monsters Inked at Idea Generation group show. I love monsters.

I just re-discovered Strawberry Switchblade after totally forgetting about them for 5 or so odd years. This used to be my favorite song in like, 8th grade. It was probably very well the inspiration for half of my wardrobe for about a year. What a freak. Thank god there are about zero images of that time in my life. I like to refer to it as "the golden year that never happened."

This top image is what the doctors wore during the Bubonic Plague. They were shaped like a birds-beak because it was believed "good air" would not infect a human, so herbs were placed at the tip of the beak so that the air would be pure for the doctor and prevent him from getting the plague. So great.

The last three images are by Gustaf Tenggren, from an extremely rare 1923 edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales. God illustrations used to be so incredible.

I've been studying for my Space Gender + The Body class all day, reading about menstrual blood, sperm, resurrected fetus', Jesus' penis...among things, and was thinking about the last words of famous people for some reason. I found this pretty neat compilation, so here are some good ones: (top to bottom) Tom "Black Jack" Ketchum, convicted murderer; James French, convicted murder; George Engel, union activist and founder of the Socialistic Labor Party of North America; Che Guevara, revolutionary Tallulah Bankhead, actress. The last one I particularly love. Back to Poultrygeist and not studying!

Sifting through old files on my desktop I came across this picture Evan sent me a while ago. He said he drew a portrait of me that reminded him of Jem and the Holograms. I could not have been more excited.
He also sent me this picture.
This isn't related to the above picture, but it made me feel equally happy looking at it. I think I'm being a huge sucker for this stuff lately because I miss my Peebs. It reminds me of when people give books to people they love with a message inside of it. I love finding old books with romantic notes in them and pretending they are addressed to me. It's so sad.

I think I have changed my future moving plans and will replace Austin with Santa Fe after Portland. Something about the desert is just so intriguing.
